FDA will be enforcing the Produce Safety Rule, are you ready?
The new law, which is currently in effect, mandates on-farm operations and farm labor contractors to train at least one supervisor or responsible party from the farm on specific FDA-mandated standards, this is key to implement the components applicable to their agricultural operation. Failure to comply with the new standard can result in enforcement action being taken by FDA.
AgSafe and Western Grower’s food safety training program; meet these training requirements and can get you prepared. We have developed a comprehensive program which not only explains the new Produce Safety Rule, but also covers best practices and how to implement required elements into your operation’s food safety program.
Grower Training Course – Day 1
This course has been recognized by the FDA as sufficient to meet the training requirement for supervisors or responsible parties for the new Produce Safety Rule This training will assist in understanding the basic requirements of the Produce Safety Rule and will cover all seven elements of the standard.
AgSafe and Western Growers strongly recommend agricultural operations and farm labor contractors to send more than one person to this training as the certificate is issued by the Association of Food and Drug Officials to the individual trained and not to the employer.
